Are Ellen DeGeneres, Melissa McCarthy and Lena Dunham the New Ghostbusters?

ETONLINE

Ellen DeGeneres is throwing her name in the ring for 'Ghostbusters 3.'

Ellen DeGeneres is taking it upon herself to cast the new Ghostbusters 3 -- and this trio isn't too far off from some of our casting picks.

Bridesmaids
actress Melissa McCarthy and Girls star Lena Dunham joined Ellen on her Monday show and the daytime host took the opportunity to pitch the movie to the funny women. "The three of us, I think we should maybe do Ghostbusters together or something like that," Ellen told the women.

Turning to Melissa, Ellen said, "I think you’re in already." Despite some prying on both Ellen and Lena's part to get the actress to confess she's already been cast in the sequel, Melissa denied the claims several times, saying, "I’m not in. I’m not it!"

Lena, however, is all for being a Ghostbuster. "I have to say, since I've heard that rumor I think every lady in town who fancies herself a jokester wants in."

Bridesmaid
director Paul Feig revealed in October that he would be directing the Ghostbusters reboot, and Bill Murray, star of the first two films, offered up suggestions as to who he would cast in the sequel. "Melissa [McCarthy] would be a spectacular Ghostbuster," Murray said. "And Kristen Wiig is so funny...I like this girl Linda Cardellini a lot. And Emma Stone is funny. There are some funny girls out there."
